ZnSe switching and logic devices and their application to information processing

Abstract

In this brief review prototype digital optical circuitry is described. The circuitry incorporates ZnSe-based optically bistable devices, the essential optothermally induced properties of which are discussed. Recent optoelectronic studies of bulk and thin-film ZnSe samples are summarized with regard to their potential for optical switches.
