Abstract
Short length (˜2 mm) fiber Fabry-Perot interferometers embedded in test models have been used as calorimeter heat transfer gauges in transient wind tunnel experiments. Four sensors were multiplexed to a single laser diode source by a fiber optic coupler network. Results are presented from wind tunnel evaluations with comparison against conventional thin film resistance thermometers in the measurement of heat fluxes of ˜50 kW m-2 and 20 ms duration.
