Abstract

This letter presents wideband differential-mode(DM) bandpass filters (BPFs) designed on a microstrip line forultrawideband (UWB) applications. The proposed design is basedon an optimized branch-line structure with extended transmissionlines (TLs). An enhanced performance can be obtained using avery simple design approach. The introduced TLs can be usedfor improving the DM stopband response by introducing multipletransmission zeros (TZs) at the lower and upper stopband. Thecommon-mode rejection level can also achieve around 40 dBwithin the band of interest. The proposed filters are fabricatedfor experimental verification. The predicted and measured resultsshow a very good agreement.
