Abstract

This paper presents a waveform design method for integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) system based on hybrid beamforming. The directional pattern forms several different beams in the space domain, which point to the communication direction and the radar perception direction respectively. It can detect the radar target and send modulated information to the communication user using the direction modulation (DM) technology. The detection performance was optimized by maximizing the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of radar echo signal under the constraints on user communication quality and transmitter power. The resulting beam response and phase response both demonstrate the effectiveness of the design.
