Abstract

The sorting of vortices in Bose-Einstein condensates (BEC) using interferometric technique was studied. It was shown that the BECs in the two arms of the interferometer were rotated with respect to each other through fixed angles. A rotation through fixed angles and sorting was modeled into vortex components with even and odd values of the topological charge of two-dimensional BECs in a number of states. The methods used for rotating BECs involved asymmetric phase imprinting.
