Abstract
A knowledge of the quality factor of the gyrator circuit and the unloaded split quality factors of its counter-rotating eigen-networks of any junction circulator is sufficient for the description of its dissipation loss. Some experimental data are summarised for the latter quantities at a frequency of 2.0 GHz. This is done for a number of different ferrite materials and a number of different coupling angles that the ports subtend at the terminals of the junction at 2.0 GHz. The overall insertion loss obtained in this way is compatible with practice. © IEE, 2005.
