Ultrafast Laser Fabrication of Efficient Volume Bragg Gratings at Depth in Silica

Abstract

By using a spatial light modulator to correct for depth-dependent aberrations, we demonstrate the ultrafast laser fabrication of volume gratings at depths up to 850 pm that exhibit 45% efficiency for 633 nm light.
