Abstract

The sine-Gordon equation f{symbol} xx -f{symbol} xx =m 2 sinf{symbol} is considered as a model one-dimensional classical field theory with particlelike solutions. The model has applications in many branches of physics and gives an exact description of the interaction of an arbitrary number of elementary particles and bound-state composite particles. © 1975 Società Italiana di Fisica.
