Throughout Europe, the USA and Canada, there are examples of continuously operational breweries dating back 200 to over 900 years. Brewing in Spain however started late in the game and suffered a hiatus in the 1980’s and 90’s leaving the country with no operations with a long production history. Here, we look at the development of the industry in the Basque Country highlighting the recent resurgence of the beer sector.
