Abstract

The last decade or so has seen the development and maturity of objective measurement technologies as defined by the authors as fundamental tools to integrate the textile clothing and retailing chain. With new advances in data measurement and the realisation of on-line network technologies, a powerful network has already been established at the research centre of excellence in Bradford. The system funded by the UK's Department of Trade and Industry and called Cyber-Tex is undergoing pilot testing at present with 12 companies. This paper describes and discusses Cyber-Tex through a live demonstration by a remote connection to the Centre for Objective Measurements and Innovation Technologies (COMIT) in Bradford, UK, from SEVE in Salonica, Greece.
