Abstract
The inadequacy of the Closed World Assumption in dealing with indefinite information has led to the Generalised Closed World Assumption and the Extended Generalised Closed World Assumption. However, these approaches have serious shortcomings. In this paper, the Indefinite Closed World Assumption is proposed to overcome the shortcomings. It provides a desirable and simple logical interpretation of a database containing indefinite information. © 1994.
