Abstract

The first supraicosahedral bis(heteroborane), 1-(4'-Cp-4', 1',6'-closo-CoC₂B₁₀H₁₁)-4-Cp-4,1,6- closo-CoC₂B₁₀H₁₁ has been synthesised as a mixture of racemic and meso diastereoisomers. Analysis of the molecular structures reveals clear evidence of internally crowded molecules. © 2010 The Royal Society of Chemistry.
