Abstract
This paper describes a study of the conditions inside a turbo-drill turbine cascade of high circulating flow coefficient using the PIV method. Measurements of velocity vector fields and derived vorticity were obtained and their characteristics determined. The fluid drill mechanical energy transfer, overall energy-losses and flow features responsible for these effects were investigated.
