Abstract

Since the 2014 oil price collapse, oil exporters have been grappling with lower revenues and weaker growth. Presenting evidence from three diverse oil exporters, this talk will show how it’s not all unwelcome news: the underlying structures of their economies could bring an unexpected boost to medium-term growth prospects if adjustment is well-targeted and supported by productivity gains.
