Abstract
The reactions of [RhRu3(µH)2(µCO)(CO)9(µ5C5H5)] with triphenylphosphine and trimethylphosphite and of [RhRu3(µH)2(µCO)(CO)9(µ5C5Me5)] with triphenylphosphine yield clusters [RhRu3(µH)2(µCO)(CO)9-n(PR3)nCp'] (n = 1, 2; R = Ph, Cp' = µ5C5H5, µ5C5Me5 and R = OME, Cp' = µ5C5H5) and cleavage products. The structures and isomerisation of the phosphorus containing clusters have been investigated by 1H and 31P NMR spectroscopy. The crystal structure of [RhRu3(µH)2(µCO)(CO)7(PPh3)2(µ5C5H5)] has been determined by X-ray diffraction, and the molecule is shown to contain PPh3 ligands bonded axially and equatorially to two basal ruthenium atoms. © 1991.
