Abstract

Recent UNIDO publications on the transfer of technology to the Third World raise important questions of the contrast between advanced technology and the basic needs of many of the world's nations. Dr Steel, a Physicist at Heriot-Watt University, reviewed these in the light of his own experience in India and Africa.
