Abstract

(Cycloalkylidene)bishydroperoxides 3 react with 1,n-dihaloalkanes (n = 3-6) in the presence of CsOH-H₂O in DMF affording the corresponding spiro- 1,2,4,5-tetraoxacycloalkanes 4 in moderate yields. Compound 4ba exhibits significant antimalarial activity in vitro against P. falciparum.
