Abstract

The 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene (EDOT)-containing heteropentalene mesomeric betaine 9 has been prepared and electro-polymerised. When coated onto an indium tin oxide (ITO) covered glass slide the optical band-gap of the polymer was determined as 1.75 eV. (C) 2010 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
