Abstract

Sustainability poses a complex challenge for organisations by exerting pressure to implement sustainable practices across business functions and to innovate as well as manage change. Project management reflects the ability to manage, lead and deliver change. This implies that projects are essential tools in implementing the sustainability change process. However, in most organisations the actual integration is not obligatory, which is possibly caused by a lacking sense of responsibility. Therefore, the aim of this paper is to investigate how different project stakeholders perceive their responsibility towards the integration of seven sustainability principles into project management, which could be the cornerstone for a successful implementation
