Abstract

This paper describes the design of a highly selective superconducting microstrip bandpass filter for the DCS1800 base station. The filter exhibits a pair of attenuation poles at finite frequencies to improve the selectivity. The utilisation of meander open-loop resonators allows a very small and compact filter configuration to be realised. The filter is fabricated using YBa2Cu3O7 thin film HTS material on a MgO substrate that is only 0.3×39×22.5 mm. Measured results are presented.
