Abstract

The influence of steric factors in substitution reactions of 2 : 7 dihydroxy- and 2 : 7-diamino-naphthalenes is discussed, and additional evidence obtained that one of the bromine atoms in dibromo-2 : 7-dihydroxynaphthalene is in position 6.
