Abstract
Developed in partnership with IDEAS institute and IMAGES institute at Robert Gordon University, this project formed a seed funded scoping study (commenced April 2011) with 7 industry partners ranging from large-scale manufactures (e.g. Reid & Taylor, Johnstons of Elgin, Lyle & Scott) to individual designer-makers. The study researched the need, potential and issues involved in introducing a new approach to archiving within the Scottish textiles industry.
The installation comprised of physical archives and digital projection, and sought to communicate the projects ambitions to key industry stakeholders and the wider public. The project received £1500 seed funding from the Scottish Academy of Fashion, an initiative supported by the Scottish Funding Council, Textiles Scotland and Scottish Enterprise.
Multi-media installation.
