Abstract
Clathrates of ammonia borane loaded with molecular hydrogen offer unique gravimetric and volumetric density of hydrogen and fast kinetics of release of physisorbed hydrogen. We developed a statistical model of stability of clathrates and we tested its performance on well known hydrates loaded with methane, neon and CO2. Next, we applied the same model to clathrates of ammonia borane loaded with hydrogen. We predict that the pressure required for the stability of these clathrates at 77 K is around 1 bar.
