    Abstract

The most common method of determining the performance of a system using statistical energy analysis is to solve a series of simultaneous equations. However, there can be many advantages in determining the performance on a path by path basis. The sound transmitted by a path is derived and the valid paths defined. The advantages of this form of analysis are discussed. © 1990.
