N2 - This paper presents the design and implementation of a smart automated bottle-filling industry using Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)—Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems. The automation processes include bottle-filling, warehouse management and energy-efficient lighting systems. A SCADA simulation of the bottle-filling industry, demonstrating the complete processes that can aid in monitoring and control has been developed. After the cleaning and filling processes, the bottles are transported to the warehouses with barcode labelling for effective sorting process. Appropriate warehouse management techniques coupled with state-of-the-art crane systems and automatic lighting solutions can improve sorting process and the energy-efficiency and throughput of the automated system. Hence, a complete integrated industrial automation system has been designed as a single system to improve flexibility, reliability, efficiency and the overall productivity of the industrial environment.
