Abstract

This paper demonstrates the suitability of currently available commercial software for the simulation of induction machines controlled by a vector controller drive, with the identification of rotor resistance. It will also be shown that it is unnecessary to write application specific software for this purpose. Using existing simulation software, the performance of a parameter identification technique is highlighted. A new technique for generating pwm phase commands to extend machine operation to higher speeds before field weakening occurs is demonstrated using the vector controlled induction machine system model.
