Research output: Contribution to conferencePaper

Abstract

The fundamental properties of semiconductor optically bistable elements are discussed. Experimental observations of bistable switching of cw laser beams in both the infrared and visible spectral regions are summarised. Device applications, including some speculation for optical computer architectures, are presented.
