Abstract

A range of current commercial woven fabrics was studied. Literature on seam pucker and sewability was surveyed. Experiments were carried out to explore the factors which lead to seam pucker. A technique of producing structural jamming pucker and eliminating other causes of pucker was developed and methods (other than sewing) of predicting the tendency of a fabric to pucker have been determined. - Index to Theses with Abstracts, Aslib, London, UK, 39(3), 1990, abstract 39-7738
