Abstract

With the influence of environmental issues which are vast and threatful to human lives, business organizations have a role to play by making organizational performance environmentally friendly. In order to ensure environmental performance in the supply chain itis essential to have the presence of transparent information (supply chain transparency), with the light of Coordination Theory (CT) too. This study is aimed to investigate the contribution of transparent information with its two-fold nature; traceability and visibility to ensure environmental performance, based on the business organizations of Sri Lanka, which have adopted environmentally friendly practices by means of obtaining environmental compliance certifications.
