Abstract

The overall performance of coated products is determined by the intrinsic material properties in solution and processing conditions. To characterize the behavior of these materials, the viscosity of polymers in solution at various concentrations was measured and the experimental data were fitted with the Carreau model. The results describe the rheological behavior of coating materials, and provide a basis for the modeling of polymer flow during the coating process. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
