Abstract
A carbon monoxide laser excited by a transverse RF discharge at 49 MHz is described. The laser was operated sealed off with coolant temperatures between 20°C and -30°C. A stable optical cavity was used to extract a maximum of 14 W of TEM00 multiline output from a gain length of 38 cm with efficiencies as high as 15%. © 1988.
