Resonance characteristics of longitudinal shunt slots in a planar slotted-waveguide antenna

Abstract

A direct method formulation of the mutual method formulation of the mutual coupling between radiating slots is a planar slotted-waveguide array is presented. The computational procedure based on this formulation permits the accurate evaluation of the resonant properties of a slot immersed in a planar array in the presence of both internal and external mutual coupling. The advantages of this procedure described over previous methods are that it is both accurate and efficient and permit accurate assessment of the allowable offset before the shunt equivalent circuit representation of the slot becomes erroneous in reduced height or dielectric-fielded waveguides.
