Abstract

An all-optical, sub-wavelength terahertz characterization technique based on an ultrathin-knife-edge is demonstrated employing ultraviolet-pulse to project the blade image on a ZnTe crystal, where the free carriers excited on a blade-shaped area act as field-shield.
