Abstract

This report has been commissioned to recommend a methodology for evaluating the accuracy of Power Available signals produced by wind farms to support operation for the GB electricity transmission system. Data from over 40 wind farms of a range of sizes and compositions has been analysed to inform this recom-mendation, which aims to:
- Reflect the operational needs of NGESO
- Be attainable by wind farms
- Be able to rapidly identify any problems with a PA signal if/when they occur
- Be practical and understandable by NGESO, wind farm operators and the wider energy industry
