title = "Radar for Healthcare Technology",
abstract = "Radar systems can detect vital signs from a distance by sensing the chest displacement. The later comes from the heartbeat and respiration. This chapter presents the theoretical background of this application along with the main characteristics of such a system. Limitations and challenges are presented. An implementation of a CW radar-based system in order to detect the heartbeat of a person is presented and demonstrated. Radar technology has the potential to replace traditional methods to monitor vital signs.",
