Abstract
Analysis of development control returns in Glasgow, Scotland and Leicester, England, has shown that in both cities the refusal rate for planning applications submitted by Asians was almost twice that for the rest of the population. In Glasgow all the Asian applications for planning permission were compared with a 10% sample of other applications submitted during 1979-80. Even within particular categories they continued to have more applications refused. Moreover, this was the case in both cities despite the marked differences between their Asian population, and correspondingly in the types of applications they submit.-from Authors
