Abstract

Highlighting the value of 4D seismic data and the restricting challenge of time and computation cost associated with reservoir flow simulation, we developed two proxy models to substitute the reservoir flow simulation and estimated the pressure and water saturation for an actual oil field. Our detailed and enhanced data analysis and model training workflow enabled the construction of small-scale ANNs whose generality and applicability were confirmed by verifying their results for new unseen data. The proxy models achieved a tenfold speed-up in over the reservoir flow simulation-based workflow while reproducing all seismic signals present in the 4D seismic quadrature maps. Their simplicity and accuracy make them valuable tools for enhancing reservoir monitoring and decision-making based on 4D seismic data.
