Prototyping a Butler Matrix Beamforming Network for RF Modeling for Phased Array Antennas used in 5G IoT Technologies

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingConference contribution

Abstract

This paper documents the concept of prototyping a efficient beam forming network for RF modeling using Butler matrix method in frequency scanning or phased array antennas. These phased array antennas are used with beam forming network to design 5G applications and IoT technologies. The major requirement of 5G wireless communications is to design an antenna with increased gain with larger bandwidth. This technique addresses the possible coverage issues and designed to operate at desired direction. To design the prototype COMSOL Multiphysics software is used with frequency of 30GHz at transmission line interface. The antennas are used in application such as radar, sonar, acoustics and storm detection.
