Abstract
The authors summarise some experimental data on the propagation constant of a square ridge waveguide using a single pair of dielectric loaded ridges. The work is based on a cavity technique in the 8-16 GHz frequency range. This is done for both a fully filled and a partially filled arrangement. The structure under consideration is of interest in the design of ridge impedance transformers and other components. It may separately be used to validate numerical calculations on this type of waveguide.
