Promoting Inclusive Tourism Practices among Senior Citizens in Malaysia

    Abstract

    This study aims to explore the inclusive tourism practices experienced by senior citizens during their travels. This study employs in-depth personal interviews conducted over the telephone to understand the lived experiences of senior travellers aged 60 years and above who have travelled either domestically or internationally. The findings provide significant insights into how inclusive tourism practices can better meet the needs of senior travellers in Malaysia. Overall, this study suggests that the insightful sharing by senior travellers will lead to a powerful awareness and provide practical recommendations for the government to improve and promote inclusive tourism practices among senior citizens for sustainable tourism development.
