Abstract

In this chapter, the application of Aspen HYSYS is demonstrated for process simulation and design of an industrial case study of acetaldehyde production. Several useful tools in Aspen HYSYS are utilized. The use of Adjust logical operation was demonstrated for process scale-up. In addition, Optimizer and Case Studies tools are utilized for energy recovery, which directly reduces the heating and cooling loads, and thus the utility cost of the process.
