    Abstract

The concept of prestressing of LSF truss system designed with cold formed sections proposed. Investigations shows that the new idea could be more economic and useful for large span buildings.
Convetional LSF structures are widely used for building and housing however for large span puposes they are not effective.
the results shows that the new concept can prolong the length of span in this system and it will decrease about 23% of the consumed steel profiles and 10% in cost.
