Abstract

All tensor components of the nonlinear refraction of three zinc-blende structure semiconductors, InSb, GaAs and ZnSe are calculated over the spectral range below the band edge (0 < h {combining short solidus overlay}? < Eg), within the Kane four-band model. The resulting linear/circular dichroism is shown to be closely a universal function of h {combining short solidus overlay}?/Eg. Kleinmann symmetry is obeyed only in the zero-frequency limit. © 1994.
