    Abstract

An equation-of-state-based model has been developed to investigate phase behaviour of Perfluoromethylcyclohexane (PMCH) in hydrocarbon-rich mixture. The required parameters of equation of state (EOS), i.e. binary interaction parameters (BIP's) of hydrocarbon-PMCH, over a reasonable carbon range have been determined using binary and ternary hydrocarbon-PMCH experimental data. Vapour-liquid (VLE) and liquid-liquid equilibrium (LLE) data on gaseous and liquid hydrocarbons with PMCH, respectively, were used to determine pertinent EOS parameters. The determined BIP's of PMCH with hydrocarbons in this study were correlated against molecular weight of hydrocarbons. The developed model was then evaluated against the measured data of PMCH in a hydrocarbon-rich model fluid with encouraging results.
