Abstract

This paper investigates the performance of compact antenna arrays for mobile communication systems. A number of diversity combining techniques are examined. The trade off between the system performance and computational complexity of these techniques is highlighted. Furthermore, the issues of channel modelling are described, which are a prerequisite for performance evaluation of antenna arrays.
