Abstract

The use of snubber circuits on switches in power switching electronic equipment increases circuit efficiency, allowing increased switching frequency and smaller volume due to decreased losses that must be dissipated. This paper considers a passive lossless energy recovery snubber suitable for hard-switched devices used in single ended power converters. New variations to improve the basic snubber are presented. Systematic operational analysis of the circuits highlights their relative features and characteristics.
