Abstract

We report first results of numerical calculations on Ikeda instabilities ina folded Fabry-Perot resonator pumped by a gaussian beam matched to the cavity. Oscillations of periods t_R, 2t_R and 4t_R, followed by quasi-periods 2.5t_R and 5t_R, are observed en route to chaotic responses. The t_R oscillation arises from nonlinear nonreciprocity. © 1982.
