Abstract
Methods for improving diode-end-pumped thin-slab laser efficiency are presented, involving optimised pump delivery, stress-free mounting with interface materials and ASE suppression. Using these, our Tm:YLF system achieves 55-60% slope efficiency, with potential scaling past 300W.
