Abstract

Gas processing plants are facing challenges in economic competitiveness due to lack of flexibility of the plant operations to economically produce the most desirable products. The flexibility of the plant operations highly depends on the feed compositions, which frequently change over time and must have feasible operations under such uncertain conditions. Previous optimization technique used deterministic approach where uncertainties of the feed compositions were not considered. In this work, we address a new optimization technique for gas processing plant using probabilistic programming which guarantees not only the flexibility of the plant operations but also the profitability and reliability of the process.
