OFDM system with cyclic prefix reconstruction and MMSE turbo equalization

Abstract

In this paper, a new OFDM system without a cyclic prefix (CP) is presented. A turbo equalization technique for single carrier systems is extended to OFDM systems. Turbo equalization and cyclic prefix reconstruction are combined together to eliminate the normally required cyclic prefix for such a system. The new method jointly combines turbo equalization and CP reconstruction within the same iterative loop. The performance of the proposed scheme is studied through simulations.
